tape. Housed in a 3/4 brown leather clamshell box with marbled paper covered
boards. A brief and unusual dower claim by the widow of Joseph Smith Jr. "The
petitioner was the wife of Joseph Smith, deceased, and claims that she was
entitled to dower in certain property, now owned by the United States, and
submits the decree in the court in Illinois in her favor. A very uncommon

condition with slight rippled endhseets and slight rubbing to label.
Slipcase.is near fine. Essays include: Hamlet, The Metaphysical Poets and
William Blake. Unrecorded, probable presentation binding. Not

Williams and Co., 1849. 1st edition. Folio. Red cloth with gilt titles and
elaborate blind and gilt patterns on covers. In very good condition.
Professionally rebacked with gilt lettering. The covers are moderately soiled.
Text block has been reset with reinforced hinges into casing. Rubbed corners
have been rebuilt and toned to match. A few small marginal tears in engraved
title page have been skillfully repaired. More than 60 engravings in very good
