pages. Folio. Photographic cloth. Near fine condition. Light scrape mark on upper left<br />

edge of front cover. Dust jacket is good but with a one inch gouge in upper left edge of<br />

jacket where the <strong>book</strong> fell off the accompanying stand; several light creases and scuff<br />

marks surround the gouge. The tear has been neatly repaired with cello tape. Measuring<br />

20 x 28 inches and weighing in at 66lbs, this massive tome highlights the photographic<br />

career of Helmut Newton (1920-2004), best known for his striking photos of fashion,<br />

celebrities and nudes. Contains 450 black and white and color photos. Boldly signed by<br />

Newton on the limitation page, and also hand numbered. Edited by his wife, June<br />

Newton. In addition to the accompanying metal <strong>book</strong> stand that was not sufficient to<br />

support the weight of the <strong>book</strong>, the original wrapping paper with the limited number<br />

London: William Pickering, 1853. 288 pages. 16mo. Full dark green morocco<br />

with raised bands, gilt titles, gilt dentelles, marbled endsheets and all edges<br />

gilt. Near fine. Faint rubbing to edges of spine and very light scuff marks at<br />

fore edge. Appears to have had little use. A handsome and <strong>rare</strong> copy from the<br />

Co., P. Pratt and J. Goodson, 1837. 2nd edition. 619, [2] pp. 16mo. Full smooth<br />

brown sheep with gilt rules and title on spine. Very good with mild, but<br />

normal rubbing and scuffing at extremities. Corners bumped and a bit<br />

rounded. New, well-matched endsheets. Previous owner name in old brown<br />

ink at tops of title page and page 29. Pages 28-29 also show two tiny<br />

underscores in red pencil. Otherwise the contents are unmarked and show<br />

light to moderate foxing throughout. Text block is good and tight. Housed in<br />

a clamshell case of half brown leather and brown cloth boards with raised<br />

bands and gilt ruled and lettered spine. Collated complete. An unusually nice<br />
