170 Lower abdominal pain and perineal soreness were two symptoms enquired about during interview, which directly predicted clinic attendance by sUbjects. However, where sUbjects a lso had " o t h e r " (not directly e nquired) health complaints, then they were just as likely to att e nd t he clinic . Fever, lower abdominal pain and the perceived health status were associated w1.t h each other and were also i ndirectly predictive of c linic attendance.
