Some DOT Proper <strong>Shipping</strong> Names require a technical name to be included.<br />

Proper shipping names that must include a technical name in parentheses are<br />

indicated by the letter “G” in column 1 of the <strong>Hazardous</strong> <strong>Materials</strong> Table.<br />

Although the letters “n.o.s.” often indicates a required technical name, not all<br />

shipping names with “n.o.s.” require them. Always refer to column 1 for the letter<br />

“G” of the <strong>Hazardous</strong> <strong>Materials</strong> Table for information.<br />
