FedEx Ground Conditions <strong>and</strong> Requirements:<br />

General<br />

All packages containing hazardous materials must be properly classified,<br />

described, packaged, marked, labeled <strong>and</strong> in proper condition for transportation<br />

according to applicable DOT regulations <strong>and</strong> FedEx Ground requirements.<br />

FedEx Ground does not accept hazardous material packages prepared under the<br />

IATA/ICAO (International Air Transport Association/International Civil Aviation<br />

Organization) regulations.<br />

All packages offered <strong>and</strong> prepared under a DOT Special Permit (DOT-SP) must<br />

provide a copy of the Special Permit paperwork to the accepting facility (origin<br />

terminal).<br />

All shippers must be prepared to provide a copy of the Material <strong>Safety</strong> Data<br />

Sheet (MSDS) for their materials when requested by FedEx Ground.<br />

Service<br />

• Shippers must be properly qualified through a FedEx Account Executive<br />

before offering hazardous material packages via FedEx Ground. Please<br />

contact FedEx Ground Customer Service at 1-800-GO-FEDEX (1-800-463-<br />

3339) for more information.<br />

• <strong>Hazardous</strong> materials, including ORM-D, via FedEx Ground service are<br />

acceptable within the contiguous United States. <strong>Hazardous</strong> materials,<br />

including ORM-D materials, cannot be shipped to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto<br />

Rico. Consumer Commodity ORM-Ds only, can be shipped into Canada.<br />

However, you cannot ship Cartridges, small arms or Cartridges, power<br />

devices to Canada.<br />

• Call Tag service is not available for hazardous materials, except ORM-D’s.<br />

• Guaranteed service may not apply to packages not properly prepared in<br />

accordance with DOT regulations <strong>and</strong> FedEx Ground requirements.<br />

• <strong>Hazardous</strong> material shipments, including ORM-D’s, are not accepted at<br />

FedEx Express drop box locations, FedEx Kinko’s Office <strong>and</strong> Print Centers,<br />

FedEx World Service Center locations, FedEx Authorized ShipCenters or any<br />

unstaffed FedEx locations.<br />
