1C008 (continued)<br />

b. Thermoplastic liquid crystal copolymers having a heat<br />

distortion temperature exceeding 523 K (250 °C) measured<br />

according to ISO 75-2 (2004), method A or national equivalents,<br />

with a load of 1,80 N/mm 2 and composed of:<br />

1. Any of the following compounds:<br />

a. Phenylene, biphenylene or naphthalene; or<br />

b. Methyl, tertiary-butyl or phenyl substituted phenylene,<br />

biphenylene or naphthalene; and<br />

2. Any of the following acids:<br />

a. Terephthalic acid (CAS 100-21-0);<br />

b. 6-hydroxy-2 naphthoic acid (CAS 16712-64-4); or<br />

c. 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (CAS 99-96-7);<br />

c. Not used;<br />

d. Polyarylene ketones;<br />

e. Polyarylene sulphides, where the arylene group is biphenylene,<br />

triphenylene or combinations thereof;<br />

f. Polybiphenylenethersulphone having a ‘glass transition<br />

temperature (T g )’ exceeding 513 K (240 °C).<br />

Technical Note:<br />

The ‘glass transition temperature (T g )’ for 1C008 materials is<br />

determined using the method described in ISO 11357-2 (1999)<br />

or national equivalents. In addition, for 1C008.a.2. materials,<br />

‘glass transition temperature (T g )’ is determined on a PAI test<br />

specimen having initially been cured at a minimum temperature<br />

of 310 °C for a minimum of 15 minutes.<br />

1C009 Unprocessed fluorinated compounds as follows:<br />

a. Copolymers of vinylidene fluoride having 75 % or more beta<br />

crystalline structure without stretching;<br />

b. Fluorinated polyimides containing 10 % by weight or more of<br />

combined fluorine;<br />

c. Fluorinated phosphazene elastomers containing 30 % by weight<br />

or more of combined fluorine.<br />

1C010 ‘Fibrous or filamentary materials’, as follows:<br />

a. Organic ‘fibrous or filamentary materials’, having both of the<br />

following:<br />

1. ‘Specific modulus’ exceeding 12,7 × 10 6 m; and<br />
