1.3.1 Develop a mission specific Medical Action Plan (MAP) that is updated<br />
regularly. The MAP should include:<br />
1.3.1.1 Review medical mission priorities as required;<br />
1.3.1.2 Collaboration with local and international medical and health<br />
infrastructure;<br />
1.3.1.3 Resource limitations;<br />
1.3.1.4 Re-supply constraints;<br />
1.3.1.5 Deceased victim management, including DVI requirements;<br />
1.3.1.6 Local health concerns:<br />
1.3.1.6.1 Infectious diseases;<br />
1.3.1.6.2 Environmental considerations;<br />
1.3.1.6.3 Hazardous materials;<br />
1.3.1.6.4 Local victim handover procedure;<br />
1.3.1.6.5 Cultural considerations;<br />
1.3.1.6.6 Emergency evacuation plan;<br />
1.3.2 Participate in daily USAR team briefings and conduct the daily<br />
medical briefing. Include concepts such as:<br />
1.3.2.1 Medical status report;<br />
1.3.2.2 Health and Safety issues as reflected in the MAP;<br />
1.3.2.3 Camp health and hygiene;<br />
1.3.2.4 Address rumours as they relate to the health of team;<br />
1.3.3 Provide input to the USAR Team Leader regarding health related<br />
matters that may have an impact on the USAR team;<br />
1.3.4 Provide ongoing clinical care as required;<br />
1.3.5 Evaluate medical evacuation procedure;<br />
1.3.6 Structure team staffing to:<br />
1.3.6.1 Ensure medical presence in the BoO at all times;<br />
1.3.6.2 Ensure USAR medical personnel accompany their assigned rescue<br />
groups during operations;<br />
1.3.6.3 Ensure adequate rest periods between shifts;<br />
1.3.7 Supervise the monitoring of USAR team members for:<br />
1.3.7.1 Stress-related health problems and implement stress management<br />
techniques as appropriate;<br />
