ON Monday, October 25, 1948, the
Baloo staff met for the purpose of electing new
officers to the Editorial Staff.
Harvey B. Weeks was named to fill the position
of Editor-in-Chief. Weeks has always
been active in the affairs of our student weekly
and had served on the re-write staff of the
1946-1947 Baloo .
A college newspaper is run on much the same
basis as is its elder brother, the huge metropolitan
daily. The job of Managing Editor of
the Baloo affairs is one of the most respected
on the whole staff, and such a position requires
a good knowledge of business techniques. An
enterprising and very capable Junior, J. Fenton
Lynch, was elected to fill this position.
Through the early part of 1948 the student
body had followed with much interest the
