Plant diversity in a Central African rain forest: Implications for biodiversity conservation in Cameroon species. We use conservation indices such as Genetic Heat Index (GHI) and Pioneer Index (PI) to analyse trends in endemic and rare species in the various forest types. GIS tools and geostatistical analyses were used to identify and map potential biodiversity hotspots. Finally, Chapter 6 discusses the implications of the output of this research for the conservation of the Campo-Ma’an rain forest. Recommendations are given for its conservation and effective management. 16
