Fire Regulations/Evaluation At the sound of the fire alarms, faculty members are required to lead their classes without delay, to the closest exit to each classroom or office. Lights should be turned off in the classroom and/or office and the doors closed before leaving the building. Once out of the building move and direct the students to move at least 50 feet from the building. Corridor and stairwell doors in the main travel hallways will close automatically, but do not lock, when the fire alarm sounds. This is to restrict the passage of smoke or flames in the event of an actual fire. Smoking Regulations Smoking is not permitted in the building. Faculty is expected to honor and caution violators about the no smoking regulation. Cafeteria The Cafeteria is located at the east end on the second floor at 2323. Operating hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Other hours are posted outside the cafeteria entrance. (312) 850-7465. SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT Instructional and Office Supplies Supplies for instructional service are ordered on local supply requisition forms throughout the department chairpersons. The approval requisitions are submitted to the supply clerk in the Central Store. (See Appendices) DUPLICATING SERVICE Every department and/or instructional area has access to a copy machine. This should be used for short-run classroom material needs up to approximately 100 sheets. Large volume duplicating service is available in Reprographics, Room 0607, extension 7494. All documents left for duplicating should be copy ready and must have a detailed Work Order attached. Dean’s approval is needed for duplication of 250 or more copies. 8
