Million Undelivered Checks<br />

In an annual reminder<br />

announced today that it<br />

is looking to return $2.1<br />

million in undelivered<br />

tax refund checks to<br />

1,779 Tennessee fi lers.<br />

The refund checks could<br />

not be delivered because<br />

W’boro Rotary Club<br />

Chief Executive of <strong>Wayne</strong> Medical Center, Gerald<br />

Faircloth was the guest speaker at the Tuesday,<br />

November 29 th meeting of the <strong>Wayne</strong>sboro Rotary<br />

Club. Mr. Faircloth was the guest of Rotarian<br />

Jeff Davis. He shared with the group about the<br />

importance of small community based hospitals and<br />

how signifi cant it was for the doctors, nurses and<br />

the entire staff to always be professional and treat<br />

people with a caring attitude. He also commented<br />

on the improvements at the hospital including<br />

new medical technology as well as improvements<br />

FORECLOSURE<br />

SALE<br />

Default having occurred<br />

under that Deed of Trust dated<br />

October 20, 1998, and recorded<br />

in Trust Deed Book No. 152,<br />

page 564, Register’s Offi ce<br />

of <strong>Wayne</strong> <strong>County</strong>, Tennessee<br />

executed by Mattie Staggs<br />

Brown, unmarried, to George G.<br />

Gray, Trustee, securing a certain<br />

promissory note made payable<br />

to the <strong>Wayne</strong> <strong>County</strong> Bank. Said<br />

note provided for the payment<br />

of all costs and expenses of<br />

executing the aforesaid Trust and<br />

other costs of collection; and,<br />

WHEREAS, the <strong>Wayne</strong><br />

<strong>County</strong> Bank, as benefi ciary of<br />

said Deed of Trust has instructed<br />

the Trustee to foreclose pursuant<br />

to said Deed of Trust.<br />

Pursuant to Section 35-5-117,<br />

Tennessee Code Annotated, a<br />

sixty (60) day notice of the legal<br />

right to foreclosure was sent by<br />

regular mail on September 26,<br />

2011, to the said Mattie Staggs<br />

Brown, by the said <strong>Wayne</strong><br />

<strong>County</strong> Bank.<br />

NOW, <strong>THE</strong>REFORE, I,<br />

George G. Gray, as Trustee and<br />

not otherwise, acting upon the<br />

demand of the <strong>Wayne</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

Bank, the lawful owner and<br />

holder of said indebtedness to<br />

foreclose said Deed of Trust by<br />

virtue of the power and authority<br />

vested in me as Trustee, will<br />

on Thursday, January 5, 2012,<br />

at 11:00 o’clock A.M., at the<br />

East door of the <strong>Wayne</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

Courthouse in <strong>Wayne</strong>sboro,<br />

Tennessee, offer for sale and sell<br />

to the highest bidder for cash,<br />

at public outcry, the following<br />

described property in <strong>Wayne</strong><br />

<strong>County</strong>, Tennessee:<br />

A certain tract or parcel of<br />

land lying and being situated in<br />

the lst Civil District of <strong>Wayne</strong><br />

<strong>County</strong>, Tennessee, on the North<br />

side of U. S. Highway No. 64,<br />

about 2 ½ miles East of the<br />

Town of <strong>Wayne</strong>sboro, and being<br />

more particularly bounded and<br />

described as follows:<br />

BEGINNING at a stake on<br />

the North edge of U. S. Highway<br />

No. 64, the same being the<br />

Southeast corner of the tract<br />

of land of which this is a part;<br />

runs thence North 84 feet to a<br />

stake and pointers; thence West<br />

216 feet to a stake and pointers;<br />

thence South 84 feet to a stake on<br />

the North edge of said Highway<br />

No. 64; thence with the North<br />

edge of U. S. Highway No. 64,<br />

an Eastern direction, 216 feet<br />

to the point of beginning, and<br />

containing about one-half (1/2)<br />

acre, more or less.<br />

This being the real property<br />

conveyed to Elbert Staggs and<br />

wife, Mattie Staggs, by deed<br />

of Bertha Risner Stutts and<br />

husband, Commodore Stutts,<br />

dated June 25, 1953, and<br />

recorded in Deed Book No.<br />

39, page 248, Register’s Offi ce<br />

of <strong>Wayne</strong> <strong>County</strong>, Tennessee.<br />

Thereafter, the said Elbert Staggs<br />

died and the said Mattie Staggs<br />

(now Brown), became the owner<br />

of the fee simple title to the land<br />

above described as the surviving<br />

tenant by the entirety.<br />

SAID SALE will be made<br />

free from the right and equity<br />

of redemption and free from<br />

homestead, and all other<br />

exemptions, which are expressly<br />

waived by said Deed of Trust.<br />

Deed of conveyance will be<br />

executed by me as Trustee, to the<br />

purchaser of the property, and<br />

the purchaser will be entitled to<br />

the possession of said property<br />

and to the rents and income<br />

therefrom, from and after the<br />

notice as required by said Deed<br />

of Trust, but I will convey as<br />

Trustee only.<br />

subject to any and all unpaid<br />

taxes and assessments, together<br />

with interest and penalty, if<br />
