Mitigation Strategies<br />
Battalion 19 will work to reduce fire ignitions and reduce damage by participating in public education<br />
programs, business inspections, and the plan review process. The components to meet these goals are<br />
as follows:<br />
Commercial Business Inspections<br />
• Inspect local businesses (high risk hazard inspection, sprinkler inspections)<br />
<strong>Fire</strong> Preplans<br />
• Update fire preplans for all businesses.<br />
• Currently over 800 buildings within city limits with no preplan.<br />
• Work to document resident knowledge <strong>of</strong> buildings and infrastructure.<br />
<strong>Plan</strong> Review<br />
• Conduct fire plan review on building projects within the city and district.<br />
Prevention<br />
• Continue working with law enforcement to mitigate homeless caused ignitions.<br />
Vegetation Management<br />
• Complete weed abatement inspections in Marysville City limits.<br />
• Vegetation management along river bottom.<br />
• Work with MPD on annual cleanup day.<br />
Public Education<br />
• Participate in public education programs within the City and <strong>Yuba</strong>-Sutter Area.<br />
• Marysville Joint Unified School District – Provide public education along with participation in<br />
