intensely practical. When ignorance and confusion prevail regarding the<br />

optimistic hope of Scripture, we witness a consequent ebbing of the<br />

power and vitality from the Christian faith itself. I am convinced that the<br />

rise and acceptance of dispensationalism in the nineteenth century is<br />

related to the decline of Christian influence in American society in the<br />

twentieth. My heartfelt desire is to encourage Christians to adopt the<br />

optimistic biblical eschatology known as postmillennialism.
