During this hectic Holiday Season we hope you find time to experience all that Libertyville has to offer. Special traditions that create lasting memories will be taking place in the heart of town. The season will begin with the traditional Village of Libertyville Tree Lighting Ceremony, Friday evening, November 25th in Cook Park. Choral presentations and the arrival of a special guest from the North Pole will help to make the evening very special. Before or after festivities in the park we invite you to “Shop and Dine Libertyville.” Take time to meet the shop owners and enjoy the food, drink, music and decorations they have carefully arranged for your pleasure. Be sure to bring your family and friends downtown to enjoy our Dickens of a Holiday event scheduled for December 3rd, 10th, and 17th. Horse-drawn carriage rides, free movies for children at Liberty Theater, visits with Santa and strolling Victorian carolers are sure to delight young and old. In addition, the popular Children’s Holiday Shoppe is back. Our youngest shoppers will enjoy searching for just the right gifts in a store created just for them! And finally, we are pleased to announce that The Victorian Tea set to take place on Dec 3rd and 10th is moving to a new venue. We can’t imagine a more lovely location than the recently expanded and renovated St. Lawrence Episcopal Church. Make your reservations early as seating is limited. You won’t want to miss this one! Visit our Web site at www.mainstreetlibertyville.org or call (847) 680-0336 for more information. And just when you thought you’d settle down for a long winter’s nap, we’re getting ready to roll out Winter Frolic 2006. Watch our web site for details about the fun and games scheduled for next February! In closing, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the countless volunteers that help bring the MainStreet mission to life. Our Village is a better place to live and work because of the dedication of these wonderful people! May the peace and joy of this season fill your heart with hope for the New Year!
