I. (i) Ten Starred Questions were answered.<br />
(ii) Four Starred Questions were not reached and were transferred to<br />
Unstarred list.<br />
11. (1) Shri A. N. Naik called the attention of the Minister for Education to the<br />
following matter of urgent public importance: -<br />
"Serious unrest amongst the students of Chowgule College and the teaching<br />
community in the territory due to the unfair and arbitrary dismissal of some<br />
professors by the management of Chowgule College and action Government<br />
intends to take in the matter".<br />
The Minister of Education made a statement thereon.<br />
(2) Shri R. D. Khalap called the attention of the Chief Minister to the fol-<br />
lowing matter of urgent public importance: -<br />
"Serious apprehension in the minds of the people on the reported dis-<br />
appearance of Smt. Kushavati Gaonkar who was recently acquitted from the<br />
charges of murdering her minor children and steps Government taken or<br />
intend to take in the matter".<br />
The Chief Minister made a statement thereon. Few questions were also<br />
replled by way of clarification.<br />
(3) The Chief Minister made a statement in respect of the Calling atternon<br />
notice raised by Shri R. D. Khalap, regarding alleged murder of one Shri Surya<br />
Marajkar of Britona to which his attention was called on 26-3-1980.<br />
111 The Minister for Finance (Chief Minister) moved a motion under Section<br />
31(1) of the Govt. of Union Territories Act, 1963 for Vote on Accounts 1980-81,<br />
Motion proposed, put to vote and carried.<br />
IV. Diseussicm and Voting on Supplenlentary Demands for Grants for the year<br />
1979-80.<br />
The fallowing Demands were discussed, put to vote and granted.<br />
Demand No. l- Union Territory Legislature and Elections<br />
Demand No. 2 - Miscellaneous General Services.<br />
Demand No. 3 - Administration of Justice.<br />
Demand No. 4 - Land Revenue, Stamps and Registration.<br />
Demand No. 5- State Excise, Sales Tax and other Taxes and Duties.<br />
Demand No. 6 - Taxes on Vehicles<br />
