11. (1) Shri Herculano Dourado called the attention of the Chief Minister to the
following matter of urgent public importance:
"Tense situation prevailing in the area of Cansaulim and Arossim and other
coastal villages due to indiscriminate extraction of sand from the beaches thereby
causing damage to cashew trees, coconut plantation, houses and the fields and
likely breach of peace in view of the ensuing monsoons when the situation is
likely to be aggravated and the problem of law and order situation may crop
up as on last two occasions the Village Pachayat Offices have been gheraosd
by the villagers of the above coastal'areas."
