RECIPES<br />

PIZZA dOUGH<br />

yield: Two 11-inch pizzas<br />

INGREdIENTS<br />

1 teaspoon granulated sugar<br />

¾ cup (190ml) + 2 Tablespoons (40ml)<br />

warm water<br />

1 ¾ teaspoons dry yeast<br />

2 cups all purpose flour<br />

1 teaspoon salt<br />

1 teaspoon olive oil<br />

METHOd<br />

Make <strong>the</strong> dough<br />

1. In a small bowl, dissolve sugar in water.<br />

Sprinkle yeast on top of water and let<br />

stand for 3 minutes.<br />

2. In a medium bowl, mix toge<strong>the</strong>r flour<br />

and salt. Pour water/yeast mixture into<br />

flour and mix to form a ball.<br />

3. Transfer dough onto a floured<br />

working surface and knead dough for<br />

approximately 7 to 10 minutes or until it<br />

is smooth and elastic.<br />

4. Grease bottom and sides of a clean<br />

medium size bowl with olive oil. Place<br />

dough in bowl and cover loosely with<br />

plastic wrap. Allow <strong>the</strong> dough to rise<br />

40 minutes.<br />

Bake <strong>the</strong> Pizza<br />

1. Set wire rack in <strong>the</strong> middle rack<br />

height position.<br />

2. Turn <strong>the</strong> FUNCTION dial to PIZZA and<br />

deselect <strong>the</strong> FROZEN setting.<br />

3. Bake <strong>the</strong> pizza for <strong>the</strong> default<br />

TEMPERATURE and TIME. Press <strong>the</strong><br />

START/CANCEL button to activate.<br />

TIP<br />

For a crispier crust, add an extra<br />

minute to <strong>the</strong> timer.<br />

PIZZA SUGGESTIONS<br />

There are no right or wrong pizza<br />

combinations. The best ingredients<br />

could be <strong>the</strong> leftovers found in your very<br />

own refrigerator. Here are some of our<br />

suggestions to wet your palate.<br />

Margherita<br />

Prepare dough as described on page 70.<br />

Cut <strong>the</strong> dough in half and stretch to fit an<br />

11-inch pizza pan. Spread ½ cup tomato<br />

sauce, ¾ cup torn bocconcini cheese,<br />

fresh basil and fresh oregano for garnish.<br />

Drizzle with olive oil. Set <strong>the</strong> wire rack at<br />

<strong>the</strong> middle rack height position. Turn <strong>the</strong><br />

FUNCTION dial to PIZZA and deselect<br />

<strong>the</strong> FROZEN setting. Bake for <strong>the</strong> default<br />

TEMPERATURE and TIME. Cook until<br />

pizza toppings have melted and base is<br />

cooked and crispy.<br />

Moda<br />

Prepare dough as described on page 70. Cut<br />

dough in half and stretch to fit an 11-inch<br />

pizza pan. Spread ½ cup tomato sauce,<br />

decorate with torn fresh basil, sprinkle ½<br />

cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 1 ⁄3 cup<br />

crumbled goat cheese, 1 ⁄3 cup caramelized<br />

onions (see page 65), ¼ cup dry black<br />

olives, 10 cherry tomato halves (seeded and<br />

water removed) or roasted peppers (see<br />

page 58), Set wire rack at <strong>the</strong> middle rack<br />

height position. Turn <strong>the</strong> FUNCTION dial<br />

to PIZZA and deselect <strong>the</strong> FROZEN setting.<br />

Bake for default TEMPERATURE and TIME.<br />

Cook until pizza toppings have melted and<br />

base is cooked and crispy.
