Evaluation Plan for Implementation of the Technology Plan
Plano ISD actively monitors and adjusts technology implementations as part of our
ongoing evaluation plan. The technology plan is revisited and revised annually by the
Technology Steering Committee. Guiding questions that are an integral part of our
general evaluation process include:
What has been and is being accomplished as part of the technology
implementation?
How can the implementations be improved?
What are the next steps?
Evaluation Process:
Evaluation of the technology plan is a systematic, ongoing process. All aspects of the
plan are evaluated formally each year in November.
The Technology Steering Committee is responsible for the ongoing evaluation of this
plan. Reports providing information on the metrics discussed in the goals portion of
the plan will be reviewed on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis as appropriate. The
intention of the evaluation will be to make decisions on the impact that technology has
on the learning process for all students. A report will be given to the Superintendent
after each formal evaluation occurs.
Evaluation Method:
Plano ISD’s STaR Chart results for each campus will be used to help Plano ISD assess
its progress toward meeting the goals of the state long range plan for technology.
Other methods used for evaluation will include:
Surveys of the staff conducted yearly in regards to their use of technology in the
classroom.
Informal interviews conducted once a year for staff and students by the
Instructional Technology support staff.
Consultation with principals regarding individual staff member use of classroom
technology.
Observations on expected classroom technology use are included in the Plano
Walkthrough process.
Records of staff member participations in technology training monitored by My
Learning Plan registrations and teacher professional development records.
Integration of training into the classroom as measured by the online curriculum
planners and number and type of technology and distance learning projects.
Monitoring and documentation of community access to technology resources and
information on the campuses and on the district web sites.
Monitoring and documentation of community involvement.
Ongoing inventory of hardware and software.
Support and maintenance of technology as documented by technical support
records and service level agreements.
