are plenty of wonderful bays and
coves of natural beauty. Alssund,
Dyvig and Hørup Hav are among the
preferred places to lie at anchor.
Every year maritime events and
races are on in our waters. You may
plan your sailing holiday so you can
participate in Als Rundt (Als Sailing
Race) or see the great sailing ships
and join the festivities at the harbour
in Sønderborg during the Royal Classic
Regatta or Rumregatta before the
ships depart for Flensburg.
Would you like to go on a sailing
holiday, and do you need a boat?

yachts for hire on a weekly basis from
Dyvig Harbour on northern Als. The
yachts have navigation equipment,
map plotters, auto-pilots, windexes,
logs, bathymetry equipment, etc.
If you are into genuine sailing
match racing yachts, you have the opportunity
to try it out in Sønderborg
together with an instructor, who will
help you. Both novices and experienced

red-letter day to take place at sea,

The Europe Class World Championships
is on from July 29 th to August
10 th in Sønderborg Bay. Around 200
sailors from up to 20 countries will
take part, and, as a part of the world
champion-ship, Nations Cup is on as
well. The sailors will be between 16
and 25 years old. You can follow the
daily races from the beach ‘Skydestranden’
by Sønderborg Bay or via
big screens in the tent put up for the
occasion at Sønderborg Yachting
Club.
On Saturday, August 3 rd , there is a
free open air concert on the square in
front of Sønderborg Castle. Come
and enjoy the international atmosphere
on the square and join in
cheering the winners of Nation Cup.
