D. Registered volunteer coaches must successfully complete<br />
the <strong>AAA</strong>’s required coaches education program prior to<br />
interscholastic coaching.<br />
E. The school must submit a Registered Volunteers<br />
Verification form each year for each registered volunteer<br />
certifying that the school has ON FILE documentation for<br />
each <strong>AAA</strong> required item.<br />
F. Registered volunteer coaches must submit an enrollment<br />
form to the <strong>AAA</strong> office in any year that they serve in this<br />
capacity.<br />
G. Registered volunteer cheer coaches, competitive and noncompetitive,<br />
must be AACCA safety certified.<br />
Rule 4. NONPUBLIC SCHOOL COACHES. A nonpublic<br />
school coach must meet the same requirements as a public<br />
school coach in a comparable assignment.<br />
Rule 5. STUDENT TEACHERS. A teaching intern (student<br />
teacher) may assist with coaching duties during the intern<br />
period at the assigned school. The intern may not assume<br />
the responsibilities of head coach nor be paid for service.<br />
SECTION 3. SCHOOL PARTICIPATION<br />
REQUIREMENTS<br />
Rule 1. DECLARATION FOR SPORTS<br />
A. Deadlines.<br />
1. Member schools shall declare each year the sports in<br />
which they plan to participate interscholastically for a<br />
championship.<br />
2. Declarations for fall/winter sports and other designated<br />
activities are due by June 1. Fall and winter sports are<br />
tennis, golf, bowling, football, girls’ volleyball, cross<br />
country, swimming and diving, basketball, competitive<br />
cheer/dance, and wrestling.<br />
3. Declarations for spring sports are due by December 1.<br />
Spring sports are track and field, baseball, girls fast<br />
pitch softball, and soccer.<br />
4. Declarations for fall and winter sports may be<br />
amended to add or delete a sport without penalty<br />
through Friday of Week #13.<br />
5. During Weeks #14 through #16 a school may amend<br />
its original declaration to add or delete a fall or winter<br />
sport upon payment of a $25 late fee.<br />
6. However, sports qualifying or entering directly to the<br />
state event (cross county, swimming, competitive<br />
cheer, and competitive dance) shall be allowed to<br />
declare no later than the deadline for entries.<br />
7. Any school failing to declare track, baseball, softball or<br />
soccer by Week #22 shall not be permitted to<br />
participate in conference, district, region, or state<br />
events.<br />
8. Failure to make or amend a declaration by the times<br />
specified above shall cause a school to forfeit the right<br />
of participation for its students in the conference,<br />
district, or state events involved.<br />
B. Failure to Participate. A school failing to participate in a<br />
sport (including no shows) after declaring for the sport shall<br />
forfeit the right for its students to participate in other<br />
conference, district, region, or state events until a $25.00<br />
Coaches - Declaration for Sports - Eligibility<br />
penalty fee has been paid to the <strong>AAA</strong> office.<br />
The Executive Director has the authority to suspend the fee<br />
if the school’s failure to appear for the event was<br />
unavoidable. An administrator must submit a written<br />
request stating the extenuating circumstance.<br />
C. Dropping a Program. Schools dropping junior or senior<br />
high athletic programs shall notify the <strong>Arkansas</strong> <strong>Activities</strong><br />
<strong>Association</strong> and schools of their conferences within a<br />
reasonable time (approximately ten days) after such<br />
decisions are made.<br />
D. Admission to Conference. Schools shall only be<br />
admitted to a conference, district, or region in team sports<br />
at the beginning of a classification cycle.<br />
Rule 2. WEB SITE REQUIREMENTS<br />
All team pictures and head coach pictures must be posted by<br />
the deadline below for each team sport. REQUIRED FOR<br />
HIGH SCHOOLS — optional for junior high and middle schools.<br />
Failure to do so will be a $50.00 fine.<br />

November 15 — Competitive Cheer<br />
February 1 — Basketball<br />
February 4 — Wrestling<br />
April 15 — Soccer, Baseball, Softball<br />
All team rosters and rules meetings for football, basketball,<br />
volleyball, wrestling, baseball, softball, soccer, competitive<br />
cheer, competitive dance, golf, and tennis must be posted by<br />
the stated deadline for each team sport. TEAM ROSTERS<br />
REQUIRED FOR HIGH SCHOOLS — optional for junior high<br />
and middle schools. PENALTY : $50 fine<br />

Rule 3. ELIGIBILITY LISTS<br />
A. Student Registration - Athletics. A member school must<br />
register each eligible athlete with the <strong>Arkansas</strong> <strong>Activities</strong><br />
<strong>Association</strong> prior to interscholastic participation.<br />
Non-Athletics. The school administrator shall sign a<br />
statement to be attached to any entry form or list of<br />
participating students indicating these students meet all <strong>AAA</strong><br />
non-athletic eligibility rules. This must be submitted with the<br />
registration or entry form and NOT TO THE <strong>AAA</strong> OFFICE.<br />
B. Exchange of Lists - Athletics. Schools may obtain an<br />
opponent’s eligibility list through the <strong>AAA</strong> web site.<br />
