ect people you can imagine. For
that reason it is definitely the bid
that counts. After bid submission
there is very little room for correction
of performance, scope and
prices. Client and consulting engineer
usually select one or two companies
within a very short time. The
supplier will either find himself on
the negotiation table very soon or
won’t hear anything at all...
The co-operation in the field of
Compact Hydro is now increasingly
bearing fruit.
During 2002, VA TECH HYDRO Jevnaker
could secure three orders in
Norway with Compact Francis Turbines:
Kolfossen, Stølsvann and
Vikeså. For two further projects, a
Letter of Intent was awarded:
Kongsfoss and Bersåvatn.
Lindland hydropower plant, awarded
as a complete M+E project in
Visualisation with comfortable touch screen
operation: our latest turbine control generation
2001, was commissioned this year.
The two compact Francis turbines
with a total output of 10 MW are operating
to the full satisfaction of the
owner Dalane Energi. After Lindland,
Dalane Energi has ordered two
more Compact units (Stølsvann and
Vikeså).
For all the above plants the new SAT
turbine governor TC 1703 has been
sold or already commissioned. With
Lindland power plant: after commissioning in the cavern
its visualisation software and touch
screen operation we can provide
maximum comfort at maximum
plant safety. Also, communication
to various types of remote control
systems have to be performed with
this new system.
VA TECH HYDRO Jevnaker also operates
a branch in Sweden. Despite
relatively low project activity we
could sell one compact Kaplan turbine
that will go in operation early in
autumn 2003.
