Eating disorders (EDs) have been increasingly recognized and occurring at earlier ages in recent years, with diagnosis<br />

<strong>of</strong>ten delayed due to the atypical presentation in younger children. This study aims to characterize the presentation <strong>of</strong><br />

children versus adolescents with EDs to enhance clinicians’ ability to detect illness. A retrospective chart review was<br />

performed on children ages 6–12 and 13–19 years diagnosed with EDs presenting to an outpatient ED clinic. Data were<br />

collected on demographics, medical and psychiatric histories, physical activity, and other factors. The groups were<br />
