f. Approve the grant of scholarship, stipend and such allowances for s<strong>tuden</strong>ts;<br />
A. Against Influenza A (H1N1)<br />
g. Approve the graduation of successful candidates from the various PSHS<br />
campuses;<br />
In view of the continuing occurrence of Influenza A(H1N1) in our country<br />
and its possible spread in the school community, every-one is enjoined to<br />
practice the following precautionary measures:<br />
h. Formulate policies and rules of discipline for s<strong>tuden</strong>ts, faculty and staff;<br />
1. Perform regular hand hygiene: wash hands with soap and water for at<br />
least 20 seconds or use alcohol based hand sanitizers.<br />
i. Approve the PSHS System budget, receive and appropriate to the ends<br />
specified by law such sums as may be provided by law for the support of<br />
the system;<br />
2. Observe cough etiquette: cover your nose and mouth when coughing<br />
or sneezing.<br />
j. Receive grants whether cash, land, buildings and improvements thereof;<br />
donations, contributions, bequests, gifts, and to formulate policies for<br />
the administration thereof;<br />
3. Avoid close contact with sick people.<br />
4. Promote physical distance (at least 1 meter) from any person with<br />
influenza-like symptoms.<br />
k. Approve the use of all income and savings generated by the school in<br />
the pursuit of its functions and donations received in trust by individual<br />
campuses, according to the purpose of the donor and intention of the<br />
donation. In cases where income/donation received is not intended for a<br />
particular campus, the Board shall likewise appropriate the same for the<br />
benefit of the system or any part thereof;<br />
5. Have a clean environment. Dispose of your trash properly especially<br />
those with respiratory secretions.<br />
6. Avoid crowds, especially enclosed venues.<br />
7. Wear face masks and other personal protective equipment when necessary.<br />
8. Increase body resistance by:<br />
l. Develop policies for the expansion of enrollment in the campuses under<br />
the PSHS System;<br />
m. Establish policies and formulate guidelines/ criteria, requirements necessary<br />
to rationalize the establishment and operation of science high<br />
schools under the system in order to maintain the quality and uniform<br />
standard 1inherent of a bonafide PSHS; and<br />
(a) Having at least 8 hours of sleep<br />
(b) Being physically active<br />
(c) Drinking plenty of fluids<br />
(d) Eating nutritious food<br />
n. Prepare strategic plans to enhance the capability of the System in developing<br />
human resources with focus on youth with special talents in<br />
science and mathematics.<br />
9. In case of flu-like symptoms e.g. fever, headache, fatigue, muscle/joint<br />
pains, lack of appetite, colds, sore throat and cough, seek early medical<br />
consultation.<br />
10. When sick, stay at home until fully recovered. Follow medical advice<br />
and Department of Health recommendations.<br />
