Scope<br />
Audience<br />
The purpose <strong>of</strong> this document is to provide information on migration <strong>of</strong> <strong>LINC</strong> Systems to<br />
<strong>LINC</strong> Release 16.3/16R3 (<strong>LINC</strong> <strong>Generate</strong> and <strong>LINC</strong> Deployment), and conversion across<br />
the various host types, and between <strong>LINC</strong> <strong>Generate</strong> and LDA.<br />
In this document, LDA is taken to mean <strong>LINC</strong> Development / LDA III.<br />
This document contains an outline <strong>of</strong> the new features <strong>of</strong> this release, and the instructions<br />
for migrating to this release from the previous release.<br />
For conversion between <strong>LINC</strong> <strong>Generate</strong> and <strong>LINC</strong> Deployment, it includes sections on<br />
extracting <strong>LINC</strong> Specifications from and loading <strong>LINC</strong> Specifications into <strong>LINC</strong> <strong>Generate</strong>.<br />
For conversion between host types, it includes details <strong>of</strong> reserved words and limits, and<br />
differences in the implementation <strong>of</strong> <strong>LINC</strong> on those host types.<br />
This document refers to other documents in the <strong>LINC</strong> Library for complete details <strong>of</strong> new<br />
features. Migration instructions for migration from releases prior to the previous release<br />
are included in the previous release.<br />
The primary audience for this document consists <strong>of</strong> those people responsible for installing<br />
<strong>LINC</strong> S<strong>of</strong>tware, and migrating <strong>LINC</strong> Systems. Secondary audiences consist <strong>of</strong> those people<br />
responsible for moving <strong>LINC</strong> Specifications between <strong>LINC</strong> <strong>Generate</strong> and LDA, and<br />
converting <strong>LINC</strong> Systems across host types.<br />
Prerequisites<br />
The audience is presumed to have been trained on the <strong>LINC</strong> product and should be familiar<br />
with administering <strong>LINC</strong> Systems.<br />
