About This Document Purpose Scope Audience The purpose of this document is to provide information on migration of LINC Systems to LINC Release 16.3/16R3 (LINC Generate and LINC Deployment), and conversion across the various host types, and between LINC Generate and LDA. In this document, LDA is taken to mean LINC Development / LDA III. This document contains an outline of the new features of this release, and the instructions for migrating to this release from the previous release. For conversion between LINC Generate and LINC Deployment, it includes sections on extracting LINC Specifications from and loading LINC Specifications into LINC Generate. For conversion between host types, it includes details of reserved words and limits, and differences in the implementation of LINC on those host types. This document refers to other documents in the LINC Library for complete details of new features. Migration instructions for migration from releases prior to the previous release are included in the previous release. The primary audience for this document consists of those people responsible for installing LINC Software, and migrating LINC Systems. Secondary audiences consist of those people responsible for moving LINC Specifications between LINC Generate and LDA, and converting LINC Systems across host types. Prerequisites The audience is presumed to have been trained on the LINC product and should be familiar with administering LINC Systems. v ix
