New Features for All LINC Systems
Enhanced Checking of LINC Specifications
In LINC Logic, it is possible to code MOVE; commands that will result in inconsistent or
unexpected results. These commands are known as overlapping moves. In LINC Release
16.3/16R3, you can check for overlapping moves by using the LINC Checker Utility (CHK)
in LINC Generate.
In addition, options available in the batch for the LINC Checker Utility have been
extended. See your LINC Generate Operations Guide for details.
Changes to support LCIF
For LINC 16.3 a number of changes have been made to ensure compatibility with LDA 2.2
and above. Changes to the LINC CASE interchange file (LCIF) enable Patch Identification
and Change Identification information to be exchanged between the host and LDA.
Changes to LINC to support this include:
$ A new Supervisor Mode command to set the default level for CASE Extract.
$ Two new options for the Choice field on the CASE Data Extract Request Screen. For a
GLOBAL Specification, the user may choose to extract all patch and change
information for the LINC Generate if the system’s valid extract level is set to allow this.
For a Specification, the user may choose to extract an LDA 2.2 or 2.3 format LCIF
which will include patch and change information for that Specification.
$ Two new fields on the CASE Load Screen. Load Change Information allows the user
to load LDA patch and change information from the LINC CASE interchange file.
Audit with CC info from file enables the user to create Audit records from the
CASE Load run using the LDA patch and change information.
$ Two new parameters for batch CASE load: CCLOAD and CCAUDIT.
