Eagles Sweep Shoemaker
The Ellison Eagles took out
their frustration from their loss
last week to Cove by shutting
out the Shoemaker Grey Wolves
17-0 Feb. 9 to lead the Eagles.
In the team games, Ellison averaged
213 for the sweep. The
Grey Wolves, led by Michael
Dunem and Jared Bourgeois,
bowled well, but could not
keep up with the high-flying
Eagles. Ellison raised their
district record to 5-3 and sealed
a spot in the regional tournament.
Shoemaker fell to 2-6.
The Lady Eagles raised
their record to 7-1 with a
13-4 victory over the Lady
Grey Wolves. Devin Revels led
Ellison with a 216 average, but
Brittany Evans and Cindy Gill
were also over 190. Jerica Horn
fired a 207, her first-ever 200
game. The Lady Eagles led 5-2
after match play, then put the
match away by averaging 187

Knights Edge Cove in a
Sweep
The Harker Heights Knights
(8-0) are assured of no less
than a first place tie in district
play by edging the Copperas
Cove Bulldawgs 10-7 Feb. 9
at Killeen Bowlerama. The
Knights, behind Adarius
Stanford (266), Javon Stanford
(225), and Brian Jewell (210)
jumped out to a 6-1 lead after
match play, then held on as
Cove came back to split the
team games and take total pins
870-847. Tyler Combs (245) and
Louis Barragan (235) kept the
Dawgs (6-2) close, but could
not catch the hot Knights.
The Lady Knights also
could not put away the Lady
Dawgs until the final team
game. Heights took a 6-1 lead
after match play, but Cove
came back to trail 8-5 going

However, Heights took the final
game 166-140 to eke out a 10-7
victory. The Lady Knights, who
were led by Katie Truhitte,
Shanequa Valentine and Shelby
O’Rourke, kept pace with
Ellison at 7-1 atop the district
standings. Alexandria Norris
and Brittney Wehmeier topped
Cover (3-5) in scoring.
With two weeks left in the
district schedule, the final
places are not yet set, but the
teams advancing to the Regional
Tournament are. Harker
Heights, Copperas Cove and
Ellison boys will represent the
district as will Ellison, Harker
Heights and Shoemaker girls.

Junior Gold Qualifi er (Scratch)
Format: Bowl 6 games across 12 lanes. Top Eight will move on to a bracket bowling best
2-out-3 matches. This will continue until we have a winner.
The junior gold spot or spots will be given to the highest fi nishers in the tournament.
There will be scholarship available even if you already qualifi ed for junior gold.

YOUTH/ADULT
TOURNAMENT
March 7th at 12:30 PM
Entry Fee: $40.00 (Lineage/Awards $20.00 Scholarship $20.00)
Format: Both youth and adult will bowl 3 games each. Cut the field to the top eight and will be placed
in a bracket. Each doubles team will bowl a separate game each. Total series will determine the
winner, and move on. The finals will be single elimination.
Handicap Event: 90% of 200. Open to all sanctioned USBC members. USBC rules apply to this event.
Any other rulings will be determined by tournament director. Please wear appropriate attire to this
event. If it’s questionable don’t wear it!
