Miki Jo Parish who shot a 792
series at AMF Showplace Lanes
Euless.
Miki Jo is currently attending
classes TCJC with a focus
on early education. For the last
five years she has been the
Ballard’s full-time nanny. She
has been there for Alyssa Ballard
since she was six months
old. She would like to take this
experience and schooling and
work as a director in the day
care field some day.
What is your high series?
This is my high series. My
previous high was 778.
How many 300’s have you
bowled? None. I have shot a 299
game every year since I have
been bowling adult leagues. I
always seem leave the 7 or 10
pin.
What ball did you throw?
Storm Virtual Gravity. I love
that ball. I throw the ball really
hard and it still hooks for me.
Who drills your balls? Brett
Cooper. He knows my game
very well. I don’t have to tell
him anything, he just knows
how to drill the ball for me.
What is your all-time
favorite bowling ball? I can’t say
that I have one. The Virtual
Gravity has been my favorite
since I got it.
What is your average in the
Masters league? 208
What is your all-time high
average? 212 at Showplace last
year.
How long have you been
bowling? Since I was three
years old, so 22 years now. My
family all bowls so they got me
started. My aunt Kat Lecroy is
probably the best bowler in our
family, with David Smith being
a close second.
What part of the lane were
you playing when you shot this
series? I was playing up 10 like
I always do.
Who is your favorite pro
bowler? Can it be two so that
I don’t get in trouble? Del
and Carolyn Ballard are my
favorites. Del is so knowledgeable.
He can teach anybody
anything about the game of
bowling. Carolyn is not scared
to compete with men, she is a
fierce competitor. She is a role
model for us young ladies.
Most memorable bowling moment?
Probably the first time
I shot 299 at AMF Showplace
Lanes Euless in Travel League.
It was my first year bowling
adult leagues. I left the 10 pin.
How much do you practice? I
don’t, I just don’t have time for
it. I bowl league Monday and
Thursday and Travel League
every other Sunday. Then I go
to school Tuesday and Thursday
nights also.
