Joe has two children,<br />

14-year-old Leah, and 10-yearold<br />

Justice. He bowls in two<br />

leagues at Rowlett on Sunday<br />

and Monday nights with his<br />

wife Kerry. He is also a Service<br />

Advisor at the Ford Dealership<br />

in Greenville.<br />

What is your high series? 879<br />

almost 10 years ago at AMF<br />

Showplace Garland. I left a four<br />

pin in the 10th frame of the<br />

third game. I didn’t get nervous<br />

until I noticed that no one else<br />

was bowling in the center, they<br />

were all behind me.<br />

How many 300’s have you<br />

bowled? 17 or 18, not exactly<br />

sure.<br />

What ball did you throw?<br />

Ebonite Game Breaker. I throw<br />

that and the Hot Sauce mostly.<br />

Dino set me up good with<br />

those two balls.<br />

Who drills your balls? Dino<br />

Castillo and Tyson Branagan at<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>Bowling</strong> Shop. I have been<br />

going to them for a long time.<br />

What is your all-time favorite<br />

bowling ball? I have been pretty<br />

happy with the Ebonite equipment.<br />

I don’t know if I really<br />

have a favorite.<br />

What is your average in the<br />

Sunday Mixers league? A 225.<br />

What is your all-time high<br />

average? 229, at Don Carter<br />

West (now USA Bowl).<br />

How long have you been<br />

bowling? I started when I was<br />

12, then quit for a while and<br />

have been bowling for 11 years<br />

since.<br />

What part of the lane were<br />

you playing when you shot this<br />

series? I was playing outside,<br />

pretty straight. I don’t hook it<br />

as much as I used to and seems<br />

to be working for me. I have a<br />

much more consistent reaction<br />

playing outside at Rowlett.<br />

Who is your favorite pro<br />

bowler? I would have to say<br />

Wes Malott. I have spoken with<br />

him at some regional’s and<br />

he gave me some pretty good<br />

advice. He throws it really<br />

well.<br />

Most memorable bowling<br />

moment? It would have to be<br />

the 879. I have never had a<br />

whole bowling center focus<br />

on me before. It was a special<br />

feeling. I can’t say that I was<br />

disappointed to have left that 4<br />

pin, but it does sting a little bit<br />

that you get so close to a 900<br />

and cant finish it.<br />

How much do you practice? I<br />

really don’t. I guess I have the<br />

Wes Malott theory, I actually<br />

bowl worse the more I practice.<br />

Do you have anyone who<br />

coach’s you? My dad has always<br />

helped me. Danny Kelch and<br />

Dino Castillo, they have all<br />
