Behov av fortsatta forskningsarbeten:<br />

A suggested study based on the results of the proposed project will widen the conventional<br />

field and investigate all the possible improvements in small-scale power plants using biofuels.<br />

The objective of this future work will be to make an assessment of possibilities for increased<br />

efficiency and energy utilization of biofuels in small size plants. The analysis will be made<br />

from the technical, thermodynamic, economic and environmental points of view through the<br />

use of an integrated thermoeconomic and environomic modeling. This approach includes<br />

modeling of the plant and its components and the analysis of the associated environmental<br />

aspects, thus rendering a complete view of power plant feasibility and possible impacts. This<br />

analysis will consider the most promising technologies identified in the pre-study. Therefore,<br />

it will be a complete evaluation of the thermodynamic, economic and environmental issues<br />

related with the application of the selected technologies in Sweden. The boundaries of the<br />

<strong>system</strong> will be established according with the results of the pre-study to emphasize the most<br />

sensitive issues than need to be solved in order to implement small-scale CHP plants. A<br />

project group will be suggested to study several issues associated with this concept.
