AVT
The EC135 Avionics Trainer fills the gap between CBT/CAI training tools and a FTD. Several touch
screens are arranged in the same way as the cockpit panels in the real helicopter. Commercial off the
shelf (COTS) hardware is used, in order to offer a cost efficient training device. All avionic components
will be controlled via touch screens. Accurate EC135 flight mechanics and the original manufacture
software (same as in the helicopter) will ensure a high quality simulation.
FTD
Following a competitive evaluation of the leading flight simulation suppliers, Eurocopter teamed up with
two of the most capable partners to provide not just one trainer more, but the best system of its class,
with CAE of Germany and Indra Spain.
The EC135® FTD uses State-of-the-art technology, backed by top quality, provided by industry leaders
and the aircrafts original manufacturer. The extensive use of commodity hardware and software guarantees
a cost efficient solution for today's demanding training environment.
At the same time, the simple and highly reliable system, with an unbeatable record of low maintenance
effort will be provided in the latest available aircraft configurations with guaranteed through-life upgrades.
Realistic and the closest to reality behavior of the EC135® FTD are the essential basis for operational
flight safety guaranteed by the best in class training standards.
Training credits can be achieved on the FTD as demonstrated in the Eurocopter FTD operated in
Eurocopter's Donauwörth facilities. Nevertheless, the granting of training credits is solely governed by
local airworthiness authorities.
Training means support in the different, intermediate training levels between classroom training to actually
training on the helicopter.
Individual training means it can be purchased by the customer for continuous training on his own premises.
The approach is recommended for large fleets for which the customer wishes to establish his
own training sites and programs (e.g. military customers).
