4.1 Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
The EC135 was tailor-made for primary and secondary inter-hospital missions in close cooperation
with doctors and rescue experts, providing:
• A modular design to comply with different users' needs
• A suitable cabin design for maximum use and installation of several medical devices
• In-flight resuscitation (CPR) and endotracheal intubation capabilities
• A cabin-accessible baggage compartment
• A hygienic, easy-to-clean floor
• Rear or side stretcher loading

The EC135 is the quietest and most successful helicopter for EMS missions in its class. Optional mission
equipment such as the autopilot, moving map and weather radar support the pilot during IFR
flights and enhance overall flight safety. A "Flying Intensive Care Station" or incubators are also available
on a modular basis.
Ready for the mission
All presented EMS configurations include glass cockpit 1 and a complete EMS kit. All kits are fully
equipped with stretcher, medical seats and floor, cabinet, oxygen system, electrical and lighting system,
as well as medical apparatuses and further mission equipment (e.g. rescue rucksack, vacuum
mattress, etc.).
