European Youth Parliament Croatia
The European Youth Parliament is officially present in Croatia since 1994. Subject
to available funds, the EYP Croatia organises one to two national selection conferences
per year. The average outreach of EYP Croatia’s events levels out at approximately
150 pupils per year.
Activities in 2008
21st National Selection Conference in Rijeka
The session took place from October 10 - 12. The aim of the session was to
select the delegations for the upcoming international and regional events and to
involve more schools and students in the work of EYP Croatia.
The topics of the session were based on the main theme- intercultural dialogue,
with 2008 being the European year of Intercultural Dialogue.
Number of participants: 90
Partners and Guests:
The main partner was the City of Rijeka, primarily the Board of Education of the
city of Rijeka. Other partners were the elementary school of “Pećine” an the youth
organisation “Korak ispred”. The session was visited by Mrs. Romana Jerković,
vice major of Rijeka and a member of Parliament. Other guests included members
of the Slovenian Youth network that wanted to observe the methodology of an EYP
session.
