Europejski Parlament Mlodziezy EYP Poland<br />
The National Committee of the <strong>European</strong><br />
<strong>Youth</strong> <strong>Parliament</strong> in Poland<br />
EYP Poland has been officially registered in early 2006. A group of engaged young<br />
volunteers had been active in Rzeszow, Wroclaw and Bialystok to promote the<br />
reflection of <strong>European</strong> topics for several years already. In 2004, 2005 and 2006<br />
International conferences were held in Bialystok with around 100 participants each<br />
from up to 15 <strong>European</strong> countries. Additionally, National/Regional Sessions have<br />
been held in various Polish cities (Rzeszow, Wroclaw, Krakow, etc.), each involving<br />
around 40 Polish and 40 international participants. It consists of approximately<br />
60 very active members organising around 10 local, regional and national events<br />
annually.<br />
Activities in <strong>2008</strong><br />
The 5th National Selection Conference<br />
of the <strong>European</strong> <strong>Youth</strong> <strong>Parliament</strong><br />
Poland. The session took place in<br />
Bialystok between September 17 – 21.<br />
The session’s programme included additional<br />
highlights: Panel Debate devoted to<br />
the Military Conflict between Georgia and<br />
Russia (hosting Dr. Alan G. Flowers, and<br />
Ms Mariam Takaishvili) and the Information<br />
- Discussion Meeting entitled Schengen<br />
is your Zone (hosting - Mr. Maciej<br />
Fiłończuk, Deputy Director of the Customs<br />
Chamber in Białystok, Mr. Maciej<br />
Czarnecki, Spokesman of the Customs<br />
Chamber in Białystok and Captain Rafal<br />
Okruszko, representative of the Podlaskie<br />
Border Guard.<br />
