The National Committee of the European Youth
Parliament in The Netherlands
Created in 1998, the Stichting Europees Jeugd Parlement Nederland is the Dutch
Committee of EYP. In addition to an annual National Selection Conference, the
Committee organises several Preliminary Rounds a year and supports a strong
network of alumni through unofficial alumni get-togethers and ‘think tanks’ about
the future of the organisation.
Each year, the National Committee of the EYP in The Netherlands reaches out to
more than 200 young Dutch people.
Activities in 2008
From January 25 - 27 the 8th
Dutch National Conference took
place in Amsterdam. At the official
Opening Ceremony of the session, the
delegates were welcomed by special
guests Boris van der Ham (MP) and
Esther de Lange (MEP). Teambuilding
and Committee Work were hosted at a
school in the centre of the city. The GA
took place in the prestigious Amsterdam
Town Hall. Furthermore, the
session welcomed several international
alumni as Chairs, Journalists and
Jurors.

Other Events in 2008
Preliminary Rounds 2008
Apart from the annual National
Conference, EYP The Netherlands organises
several Preliminary Rounds a year,
at which school delegations for the National
Conference are selected. In 2008,
three Preliminary Rounds were hosted in
the cities of Nieuwegein, Wageningen and
Delft.
