The National Committee of the European
Youth Parliament in Estonia
Tegusad Eesti Noored (TEN) is a youth association created and managed by young
people, whose main goal is to raise interest and awareness in societal affairs, while
not having political affiliations. TEN was created as an NGO in Tallinn in 2001, but
today our events take place all over Estonia. Our membership has grown to more
than 240 people between ages 14 – 25. We emphasise European values, tolerance,
cooperation and constructive debate between different world views. We participate
in the creation of a strong and functioning civil society, which is the basis of democratic,
free and successful development of Estonia. To achieve our goals we organise
diverse educational events, in which we wish to include as many young people
as possible. We are founding members of the Estonian National Youth Council and
actively cooperate with other youth organisations. We gain experience by participating
in international youth cooperation projects such as the European Youth Parliament.
anniversary of the Universal Declaration
of Human Rights. The patron of the
session was Estonian Chancellor of
Justice.
Number of participants: 120
Human Right Centre, Coca Cola
Regional session in Russian was
held in Kohtla-Järve October 3 - 5
with approx. 80 Russian-speaking
delegates and officials. Session got an
highly positive evaluation both from delegates
and organisers. Russian session
was also positively covered in Estonian
media, because of it’s high integrational
value. Event was sponsored by Europan
Youth Programme and SEB
Bank.
Active Estonian Youth also organised
on May 13 park-cleaning initiative
integrate physically disabled youth into
society. The event was patronaged by
