The spr<strong>in</strong>g migr<strong>at</strong>ion season, and hence <strong>the</strong> spr<strong>in</strong>g radar d<strong>at</strong>a set, can be divided <strong>in</strong> three<br />

periods roughly cover<strong>in</strong>g different ma<strong>in</strong> groups of migrants. The early period (March-April<br />

10) is <strong>the</strong> peak migr<strong>at</strong>ion period of Eiders, Common Scoters and some o<strong>the</strong>r early migrants;<br />

<strong>the</strong> middle period (April 11-May 15) cover <strong>the</strong> migr<strong>at</strong>ion of Barnacle Geese, most ducks and<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r migrants; <strong>the</strong> l<strong>at</strong>e spr<strong>in</strong>g period (last half of May) is <strong>the</strong> ma<strong>in</strong> migr<strong>at</strong>ion period of Brent<br />

Gees and waders breed<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> arctic Russia. Analys<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>se three periods separ<strong>at</strong>ely yielded<br />

<strong>the</strong> same overall p<strong>at</strong>tern as described above. A lower proportion of <strong>the</strong> overall migr<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

volume passed over sec<strong>to</strong>r C with <strong>the</strong> w<strong>in</strong>d <strong>farm</strong> <strong>in</strong> oper<strong>at</strong>ion compared <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> preconstruction<br />

period (Fig. 43, 44, 45). The largest difference was found for <strong>the</strong> l<strong>at</strong>e spr<strong>in</strong>g<br />

period where <strong>the</strong> proportion pass<strong>in</strong>g over sec<strong>to</strong>r C was 36 % lower post- compared <strong>to</strong> preconstruction<br />

(Fig. 45). For <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r periods <strong>the</strong> correspond<strong>in</strong>g decreases <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> proportion of<br />

<strong>the</strong> overall migr<strong>at</strong>ion volume were 23 % (mid-spr<strong>in</strong>g) and 15 % (early spr<strong>in</strong>g) (Fig. 43, 44).<br />
