1899 – <strong>1999</strong> Centennial Celebration
As part of the celebrations organized on the
occasion of its centennial, <strong>Fiat</strong> sponsored
a series of events and shows <strong>in</strong> Tur<strong>in</strong> and
other cities.
<strong>The</strong> dist<strong>in</strong>ctive symbol that was used <strong>in</strong>
all these projects was <strong>Fiat</strong>’s historical logo,
which was refurbished graphically for this
occasion and now graces the hood of the
new Punto model.
<strong>The</strong> Company sponsored several shows,
<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g: “<strong>Fiat</strong>, 100 Years of Industry” –
“<strong>The</strong> Face of Work” – “Images of <strong>Fiat</strong>” –
“Passeggiata Italiana” (A Stroll Through Italy).
<strong>The</strong> city of Tur<strong>in</strong> was home to a number

Thanks to a cooperation agreement with
<strong>Fiat</strong>, Tur<strong>in</strong>’s Politecnico University can now
offer a degree <strong>in</strong> Automotive Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g.
<strong>Fiat</strong> <strong>in</strong>vested 23 million euros to purchase,
remodel and equip the North W<strong>in</strong>g of the
L<strong>in</strong>gotto and will contribute an additional 23
million euros over the next ten years to help
defray operat<strong>in</strong>g expenses.

Day Worldwide” event, held on July 11,
<strong>1999</strong>, which <strong>in</strong>volved the employees and
their families. Everyone received T-shirts
with the centennial logo and competed
<strong>in</strong> an event where they could w<strong>in</strong> a Punto
and other valuable prizes. <strong>The</strong> success
of this <strong>in</strong>itiative is shown by the number
of participants: over 500,000 people at
131 locations <strong>in</strong> Italy and abroad.
<strong>The</strong> Triumph of Baroque
<strong>The</strong> Company sponsored “<strong>The</strong> Triumph
of Baroque – Architecture <strong>in</strong> Europe
between 1600 and 1750,” an <strong>in</strong>ternational
exhibit, which presented over 400 works
from all over the world.
215,000 visitors saw the show housed at
the Stup<strong>in</strong>igi Hunt<strong>in</strong>g Lodge, near Tur<strong>in</strong>.
