<strong>The</strong> Companies of the <strong>Fiat</strong> <strong>Group</strong> are organized <strong>in</strong>to
10 operat<strong>in</strong>g Sectors that manufacture automotive
products and provide services to customers <strong>in</strong> more
than 180 countries throughout the world. Driven
by an unflagg<strong>in</strong>g determ<strong>in</strong>ation to achieve market
leadership and excel <strong>in</strong> customer satisfaction,
the <strong>Group</strong> engages <strong>in</strong> the areas of automobiles,
commercial vehicles, agricultural and construction
equipment, components, production systems, aviation,
roll<strong>in</strong>g stock and railway systems, <strong>in</strong>surance and
f<strong>in</strong>ancial services, and publish<strong>in</strong>g.
PRODUCTS OF THE GROUP
Automobiles
<strong>The</strong> <strong>Group</strong>’s automobile operations are carried out primarily
by <strong>Fiat</strong> Auto S.p.A. and its subsidiaries, which sell cars
under the <strong>Fiat</strong> Lancia and Alfa Romeo brands, and light
commercial vehicles under the <strong>Fiat</strong> brand.
Through Targa Services, the Sector offers its suppliers, dealers
and customers a complete range of automotive services.
F<strong>in</strong>ancial services are provided by Fidis. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Group</strong> also controls
Ferrari and Maserati, which manufacture sports and luxury cars.
Commercial Vehicles
<strong>The</strong> Sector designs, produces and sells a complete
range of commercial vehicles under the brands
Iveco, Seddon Atk<strong>in</strong>son, Iveco Pegaso and Iveco
Ford, as well as buses (through a jo<strong>in</strong>t venture
with Renault V.I.) under the Iveco brand, fire-fight<strong>in</strong>g
equipment under the Camiva, Iveco and Magirus
brands, and diesel eng<strong>in</strong>es under the Aifo brand.
Through Transolver, the Sector furnishes a
full spectrum of f<strong>in</strong>ancial services, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g
long-term leases. <strong>The</strong> Sector
lead company is Iveco N.V.
Agricultural and Construction Equipment
<strong>The</strong> Sector is headed by CNH Global N.V., a
new company created <strong>in</strong> <strong>1999</strong> through the
merger of New Holland and Case. It operates
<strong>in</strong> the field of tractors and agricultural equipment
with the New Holland, Case, Case IH, DMI,
AFS, Flexi-Coil and Steyr brands. Its construction
equipment products are sold under the New
Holland, New Holland Construction, Case,
Fermec, L<strong>in</strong>k-Belt, O&K, <strong>Fiat</strong>Allis and <strong>Fiat</strong>-Hitachi
brands. CNH Capital offers a broad range of
f<strong>in</strong>ancial services to customers worldwide.
Other Industrial Sectors
<strong>The</strong>se Sectors, which <strong>in</strong>clude Metallurgical
Products, Components, Production Systems,
Aviation and Roll<strong>in</strong>g Stock and Railway Systems,
offer the follow<strong>in</strong>g products and services:
• Cast-iron and alum<strong>in</strong>um eng<strong>in</strong>e blocks and
cyl<strong>in</strong>der heads, other cast-iron components,
transmission components, cast-iron and
alum<strong>in</strong>um gearboxes and suspension systems,
and magnesium bodywork components.
• Motor vehicle components and systems
<strong>in</strong> the areas of powertra<strong>in</strong>, suspensions,
<strong>in</strong>terior/bodywork, and electronics, as well
as aftermarket, quick repair and <strong>in</strong>fomobility
services.
• Industrial automation systems for the
automotive <strong>in</strong>dustry, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g product
and process eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g, logistics and
management, program management,
manufactur<strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong>stallation and production
start-up, and ma<strong>in</strong>tenance.
• Components and systems for airplanes
and helicopters, ship propulsion turb<strong>in</strong>es,
propulsion systems for launchers and satellites,
and aircraft eng<strong>in</strong>e overhaul services.
• Railway and urban transit transportation
systems, roll<strong>in</strong>g stock of different types,
railway bogies, trams and subway systems.
Services
<strong>The</strong>se Sectors, which <strong>in</strong>clude Publish<strong>in</strong>g and
Communications and Insurance, are active <strong>in</strong>
the follow<strong>in</strong>g pr<strong>in</strong>cipal areas:
• Publication of the daily La Stampa and sales
of advertis<strong>in</strong>g space for multimedia customers.
• Full range of casualty and life <strong>in</strong>surance
products, bankassurance products through
a jo<strong>in</strong>t venture with Banca di Roma, sales
of Toro Targa Assicurazioni <strong>in</strong>surance products
by a jo<strong>in</strong>t venture with <strong>Fiat</strong> Auto that operates
through the <strong>Fiat</strong> dealer network.
