Protection classes –
Protection against electric shock
To protect life, precaution must be taken to prevent
shock caused by live parts on electrical appliances.
Consequently each luminaire has to be properly
insulated so that all danger caused by touching
live parts is avoided. Special attention must be
paid that all appliances are disconnected from
power supply, should in any way the insulation
become damaged.
Protection classes advise on the various ways of
application.
