WHEEL BASE
TYPE SI
All standard Type 51 bodies were mounted on 122 inch wheel base chassis. Chassis
furnished without bodies have 122 inch or 145 inch wheel base.
TYPE 53
All standard Type 53 bodies with the exception of "132" Touring were mounted on
122 inch wheel base chassis. The "132" Touring was mounted on 132 inch wheel base
chassis. Chassis furnished without bodies have 122 inch, 132 inch or 145 inch wheel
base.
TYPE 55
Touring, Phaeton. Roadster, Club Roadster, Coupe, Victoria, Convertible and
Brougham bodies were mounted on 125 inch wheel base chassis. Limousine, Landaulet
and Imperial bodies were mounted on 132 inch wheel base chassis. Chassis furnished
without bodies have 125 inch. 132 inch or 145 inch wheel base.
TYPE 57
Seven-Passenger, Phaetons (first and second types), Roadsters (first and second
types), Victoria, and Brougham bodies are mounted on 125 inch wheel base chassis.
Limousine, Town Limousine, Landaulet, Town Landaulet, Suburban, Seven-Passenger
Brougham, and Imperial bodies are mounted on 132-inch wheel base chassis. Chassis
furnished without bodies have 125 inch, 132 inch or 145 inch wheel base.
ENGINE NUMBERS
On eight cylinder cars the engine number is stamped on the crank case just back
of the right hand block of cylinders. On Type 57 engines it is stamped on the fan
shaft housing also.
Type 51 engines number from A-6001 to A-19001 inclusive.
Type 53 engines number from A-20001 to A-38003 inclusive.
The engine number of each Type 55 car begins with the figures "55."
The engine number of each Type 57 car begins with the figures "57."
