3.12 PCIDSK Datenformat:
PCIDSK is a data structure for holding digital images and related data. Each PCIDSK
database is a separate, named disk file. Each user of the EASI/PACE system can have
any number of PCIDSK files, limited only by the disk capacity of the computer system.
PCIDSK files can be shared with other users. One of the advantages of the PCIDSK file
structure is that images and associated data, such as Lookup Tables and bitmaps, are
contained in a single file, making it simple to keep track of related information. The use
of a single file for each data set also simplifies the problems of deletion (when processing
of the image is complete), backup and copying since only one file is involved in these
operations.
