HOW TO USE YOUR BUDAPEST CARD
The Budapest Card is only valid if it features the holder’s signature and the starting
time of its use. Please enter in ink into the boxes on the back the exact time (date and
hour) when you intend to start using the card. Put the month in the first two, the day in
the second two, and the hour in the third two boxes (the last full hour). Please make sure
that all six boxes are filled in, putting 0 where appropriate. (For example, if you start using
the card at 14.15 on 27th June, you enter: 06 27 14) Please make sure you fill in the card
correctly, as overwritten, corrected or illegible cards may not be used. Don’t forget to
sign your card before starting to use it.
The Budapest Card is issued for a particular person. The services listed may be used
by the card owner and an accompanying child of maximum 14 years of age. Budapest
Cards are available for 48 or 72 hours.
During the validity period of the Budapest Card you can travel without restrictions on
all lines of the BKV including trams, trolleybuses, the Millennium Underground Railway,
metro lines, the cogwheel railway and buses (on the whole length of the lines).
The HÉV services connect Budapest with the surrounding towns, but please note that
the Budapest Card is valid only to the city borders. So if you want to go to Szentendre or
Gödöllő, remember to purchase a supplementary HÉV ticket in one of the BKV HÉV
ticket offices.
The Budapest Card is not valid for the Funicular, the Chairlift and the boat lines of
BKV Zrt.
When travelling on the lines of BKV Zrt., the Budapest Card functions as your valid
ticket, so please at request present it to the conductors, who are also authorised to validate
the signature on the Card by checking your personal identification documents. Travellers
using the lines of the BKV Zrt. without a valid ticket or Card are liable to pay a fine.
The card offers discounts only at the places listed in the booklet. Please show your
card or give it to the cashier before payment. Note that certain sights and museums stop
selling tickets half an hour before closing time. The Budapest Card includes insurance
cover for travel accidents. Further information is given in the chapter Other Services.
In restaurants, the Budapest Card discount is available to cardholders as well as to all
guests accompanying them, with the exception of the Gundel and Bagolyvár restaurants,
where free dishes are offered exclusively to cardholders and a child having a meal with
them. The discount is on prices listed in the a la carte menu, and cannot be combined
with other offers. When placing your order for your meal, please show the card to the
waiter, and if requested, please sign the bill.
Editorial work on the Budapest Card booklet was completed on 11th December 2009.
The Tourism Office of Budapest cannot take responsibility for any later changes in prices,
opening hours or in any other areas. Please always obtain up-to-date information on
discounts and services on the spot.
Unused cards cannot be changed or refunded.
A BUDAPEST KÁRTYA HASZNÁLATA
A Budapest Kártya érvényességének feltétele, hogy szerepeljen rajta a tulajdonos aláírása,
valamint a használat kezdetének időpontja. Kérjük, a hátlapon lévő kockákba
írja be tintával azt az időpontot (dátum, óra), amikortól a kártyát használni szeretné. Az
első két kockába írja a hónap, a második két kockába a nap, a harmadik két kockába
pedig az óra (utolsó eltelt óra) számát. Kérjük, hogy mind a hat kockát töltse ki, az esetlegesen
üresen maradó kockákba 0-át írva (például június 27. 14.15: 06 27 14). Kérjük,
ügyeljen a pontos kitöltésre, ugyanis az átírt, átjavított vagy olvashatatlan kártya nem
felhasználható! Az első használat előtt ne felejtse el aláírni kártyáját!
A Budapest Kártya személyre szól, át nem ruházható. A Budapest Kártya a tulajdonosa
és egy kíséretében lévő, legfeljebb 14 éves gyermek számára nyújtja kedvezményeit.
Budapest Kártya 48 órás és 72 órás érvényességgel kapható.
A Budapest Kártya érvényességi ideje alatt korlátlanul utazhat a BKV Zrt. járatain; villamoson,
trolibuszon, metrón, kisföldalattin, fogaskerekűn, autóbuszon (teljes vonalon),
valamint a HÉV-en Budapest közigazgatási határáig.
