water pump seal it will drip
from the water pump housing.
This drain hole is located at
the bottom of the water pump
housing and will usually leak
when flie engine is running.
—Waterpump bearing
fatigue: Usually the water
pump bearing will create
noise and an overheating
problem when it deteriorates.
The bearing can* be checked
by a simple method. Grab fee
fan blade by the top and
bottom and shake :— ezcessive
play will Indicate •
bearing failure.
Keep in mind that you could
have a bad water pump
bearing without having,,a
leak, and you can have a
leaking water pump seal
without a bearing failure. But,
regardless of the problem, is
still Is necessary to replace
