• Diploid primordial germ cells (PGCs) migrate to the<br />
developing gonads, which will form the ovaries in<br />
females <strong>and</strong> the testes in males.<br />
• Mitotic proliferation in the developing gonads<br />
• PGCs undergo meiosis <strong>and</strong> differentiate into mature<br />
haploid gametes - either eggs or sperm.
