to start with a new resolution: I promise to try to
avoid continuation articles of the type used last issue.
Charlie McCarthy's CHEEP PRINT software is in
this issue. Phew. Your comments and letters are
hereby officially acknowledged. Ouch. I won't do it
anymore. Groan.
Perhaps the biggest blooper in Issue 3 was the accidental
deletion of the last part of an OSI software
listing. I can report, with some conviction, that the
article was read by OSI owners. The corrected listing
was printed in Issue #1 of compute II. .

The Spinwriter thimble doesn't have a backarrow
symbol, so a """,, "~"" is used instead.
The .. "~i" ..," is used to indicate the beginning of a
continuation line. It is also used to indicate the end
of a line which ends with a space. This prevents any
spaces from being hidden. ©
