They shared my enthusiasm and awe during the raising of the curtain at the beginning of the sale. What an experience! This year was the 39 th Annual Sale and was the last year that Gary Kendall, Kendall Cattle Sales will manage the sale. Much appreciation is due for his hard work and dedication to the event. Top seller was Lot 23, 5B Pure Gold Tootsie T3, an 04/08/07 daughter of C –S Pure Gold 98170 and out of a Churchill Blaze 6110 daughter. 5B Hereford Ranch of Ferndale, WA has consigned the heifer to Denver. Joe Brazil, J-B Herefords of Turlock, CA purchased Tootsie for $10,000. Lot 7, WHR Roxanne 786, consigned by Sticks and Stones Ranch of Cheyenne, WY, is an 04/08/07 daughter of GH Rambo 279R and out of a CL 1 Domino 185 daughter. 786 also sold to Joe Brazil, J-B Herefords of Turlock, Congratulations to the Repenning and Solsma families on their 2007 show ring success with these LHF bred winners: Claire and Blake Solsma with LHF “609” by LaGrand Reload 80P ET. Champion Hereford Steer, Iowa State Fair. CA for $7,500. Lot 1, consigned by BB Cattle Company of Connell, WA, sold “Pick of the Herd” to Steven Schohr of Gridley, CA for $7,250. Lot 4, /S Lady Harland 7006T, consigned by Shaw Cattle Co. of Caldwell, ID sold to Bobby Mickelson of Santa Rosa, CA for $7,000. 7006T is a 02/08/07 daughter of CJH Harland 408 and out of a TS Peerless Builder 8453 daughter. Lot 6X, consigned by Shaw Cattle Co. of Caldwell, ID sold to Kari & Brooke Brumley of Orovada, CA for $5,500. LoT 6X was the pick of their fall 2007 heifer calves. They will range in age from Aug 15 - Nov 1, 2007. Some of the sires represented will be CJH L1 Domino 552, /S Mister Mom 7745, HH Advance 286M, CL 1 Domino 484, CL 1 Domino 252M, CJH Harland 408 & /S 745 Mr Mom 0086. North Dakota and Minnesota breeders brought an excellent set of open heifers. Some great show prospects that will make tremendous cows down the road. Lot 12, OHR Morning Glory 15T from Olson Hereford Ranch of Argusville, ND sold to Charlie Hensley, Gilette, WY for $3,000, a RJH Momentum H45 daughter. Cody Klein of Scranton, ND bought Lot 10, Kayla Sunshine 0711, a SB 122L Git-R-Done 19R ET heifer calf from Kayla Pelton. Halliday, ND for $3,000. Gary Kendall, Kendall Cattle Sales, Idaho, retires from managing the Nugget National Hereford Sale. Top bred heifer sold to Topp Herefords, Grace City, ND for $2,100. Lot 17, Rangeline 28K Daisy Jane 25S is a TH JWR SOP 16G 57G Tundra 63N daughter consigned by Rangeline Cattle of Thief River Falls, MN. Top bull, Lot 21, WPH Dallas W1T, a WPH Laredo 3M son, was consigned by Wolff Polled Herefords of Oakes, ND and sold to Jamie Schimming, Enderlin, ND for $2,000. Lot 23 was the top steer that sold to Jim Blake, Brockston, IN for $2,200. Consignors had their cattle ready and lots of bidders were walking the aisles evaluating the offering. This year there were 2 heifers that tied for the top bid of $5,000. Top-selling Cow/Calf Pair was Lot 8 & 8A consigned by Werk Polled Herefords of Herman, MN and sold for a total of $4,300. Springwater Polled Herefords of Garretson, SD purchased Werk Forever Lady 514, a 03/07/05 daughter of VCR East Kodiak 506E and out of SHF Lady 512 L49. A large crowd was in attendance to view the outstanding offering from the Fords and their guest consignors: Imig Herefords, Lakeside, Neb.; 3S Cattle, Bertrand, Neb.; Miller Red Angus, Knifely, Ky.; Right On Cattle, Bertrand, Neb.; 7U Ranch, Bayard, Neb.; Jaclyn Wilson, Lakeside, Neb.; Schmidt Farms, Bertrand, Neb. and Jim Bowen, Bertrand, Neb. The cattle were seen nationwide as the Fords broadcast the sale on Superior Productions, selling 45 head of purebred cattle and 98 head of commercial heifers via satellite. The top selling Hereford bull was Lot 131, IH 9126 Domino 6206, a Feb. ’06 bull sired by CL 1 Domino 9126J 1ET from a IHM 409 Domino 2110 cow sold for $10,000 to Gilroy Land and Cattle, Dalton and Alliance, Neb. Lot 72, 7U Javelin 6615, a May ’06 bull sired by Beckton Lancer F442 from a Julian B571 cow was the high selling Red Angus bull at $8,000, purchased by Mustang Properties, Madison, Wis. Lot 9, Crs Diamnd Julian 661, a June ’06 bull sired by 7U Julius 3354 from a Rambo 502 cow sold for $7,750 to the Lee Brothers, Elsie, Neb. Lot 49, Crs Diamnd High Life 6075, a July ’06 bull sired by DM 9014 Chief 9014 from a Grand Canyon dam sold for $7,750 to Randall and Jane Adolph, Mt. Carrol, Ill.
