Hermeneutics and Criticism (1805–1833) based
on his manuscripts and various lecture transcripts
performed by students. This new volume specifically
makes available for the first time the transcript
of the 1819 lecture undertaken by Schleiermacher’s
beloved student and subsequent literary executor,
Ludwig Jonas, as well as Braune’s transcript of a
lecture from 1826. In the latter, Schleiermacher addresses
the issue of criticism from philological and
other perspectives.

egalitäres Verständnis distributiver Gerechtigkeit
einem Gerechtigkeitsmodell überlegen ist, das
auf Verdienst und Bedürfnis beruht. Dabei wird
gezeigt, dass Gerechtigkeit zwar eine wichtige,
in einflussreichen Moraltheorien unterbestimmte
Kategorie ist, aber nicht den einzigen Maßstab für
moralisches Handeln bilden kann. Dieser Band der
Grundthemen Philosophie schafft eine wichtige
Grundlage für weitere Diskussionen zum Thema.
Justice has multiple facets. This volume examines
retributive justice as well as transactional
justice, and places special emphasis on distributive
justice. The author establishes that an egalitarian
understanding of distributive justice is superior
to a model of justice based upon merit and need.
The study shows that justice is undoubtedly an
important category, one that is underdetermined in
influential moral theories, but that justice cannot
be the only standard for moral action. This volume
in the Basic Topics in Philosophy series creates an
important foundation for further discussion of the
topic.

personality - intertwine.
