Summary: The newest Number is a famous cardiologist, but by the time Reese
gets to the man, it’s too late: he’s already been given a slow-acting
irreversible poison. While Reese and the doctor try to track down the
man who poisoned him, Carter has a tough decision to make when
IAB moves in on Fusco for the murder of his partner a year ago.
2011 — Fusco takes his friend’s corpse
into the woods. Crying, he buries Detective
Still’s in an unmarked grave.
The Present — The Machine monitors
prisoner and former Detective Azarello as
he makes a deal with IAB to tell them everything
they need to know about Fusco
and his connections to HR.
A university is holding an award ceremony
for famous cardiologist Dr. Richard
Nelson. As Dr. Juliana De Matteo introduces
Nelson, Reese works the room posing
as a waiter. While Finch briefs Reese
on Nelson, Nelson gets up to accept his
award as a professor emeritus and notices
his daughter Molly sitting at the bar.
The NYPD turns out in force for the
funeral of Cal Beecher. His godfather, Alonzo Quinn, gives the eulogy while Fusco, Simmons, and
Carter all watch.
After Nelson accepts his award, Molly walks out. When Nelson starts to go after her, his hedge
fund financier, Brandon Boyd, interrupts him to make a date to talk about health care financing.
By the time he finishes talking, Molly has already left. Dr.
Garrett Rossmore offers Nelson a bottle of rare Scotch in congratulations and explains that
one of Nelson’s grateful patients sent it. Nelson apologizes for the recommendation that he and
the board refused to give to Rossmore’s company, but Rossmore claims he has no hard feelings.
