Summary: When Shaw is tasked to stay close to a 10-year-old identified by The
Machine, she grudgingly develops respect for the young girl’s skills in
surveillance and realizes it could be the very reason why her Number
has come up. Meanwhile, Carter’s mission to bring the crime organization
HR to justice risks exposure.
A SUV cuts off a medical delivery van
that is transplanting a liver. The hijacker,
Murakami, says that their boss needs
the liver. A gunshot rings out and Sam
steps out, wearing a costume. When the
hijacker takes the driver Eric Mathers
hostage, Sam shoots through the driver’s
jacket and kill the man. She walks off
when Mathers tries to thank her, and
Finch suggests that she work on her social
skills. Finch invites her to come by
for a cup of tea but she passes.
That night, Simmons and Tierney
meet with Peter Yogorov, who tell him
that they want all the players in one
room with their boss. They’re unaware
that Carter is watching them, taking photos. She goes back to her car and finds Reese waiting
for her. He admits that he and Finch have known about her project to bring down HR for a
while, and figure she has enough to bring down half of HR. Carter figures that the only way to
take HR down is by taking out the boss, and she won’t make a move until then. She wants to get
eyes on the joint operation that HR is running with the Russians, and tells Reese that she’ll call
him if she needs help.
The next day, Finch calls Reese into the library. There’s nothing up on the board and Finch
explains that the new Number is a USCIS alien registration number. Sam realizes that they’re
looking for is an immigrant. Finch identifies the woman as Genrika Zhirova, and all he has on
her is an address in a housing project. Reese and Sam go to the address and Sam goes to the
apartment, posing as customs officers. A man calls for Genrika and goes back to playing video
