Summary: The POI team’s war with HR nears a boiling point when Finch receives
38 Numbers at once from The Machine. He discovers they are connected
to an unknown player who is inciting an all-out war between
the crime organization and the Russian mob. Meanwhile, a window
into Carter’s past is seen through flashbacks with her son’s father.
The Machine reviews the footage of
HR’s murder of Cal, and how Carter is
trying to bring them down.
Hijackers pull over a truck, kill the
drivers, and take off with hit. The owner
is soon vowing to take out the people who
stole from him.
Reese arrives at the headquarters and
Finch tells him that The Machine gave
them 38 Numbers. He has checked and
determined that all of them are policemen
with HR. They figure that some threat
is coming and Finch calls in Sam while
Reese checks in with Fusco. Fusco tells
him about the hijacking and Reese shows
up posing as a detective. Fusco talks to
the driver and confirms that HR has been guaranteeing the Russians safe passage... and now
they’ve failed. Reese notices a surveillance camera and tells Fusco to get the footage, while Finch
figures that Yogorov will go after HR, blaming them for his missing shipment, and kill 38 men.
November 10, 2013 — Alonzo meets with Carter and asks her if she knows anything about
what happened between Terney and Laskey. She claims that she knows nothing and Alonzo
points out that some people suspect that it’s HR-related. He asks if she knows anything about
HR’s involvement, and Carter tells him that it’s pointless to try and fight HR, and that she’s
decided to end her investigation. Alonzo tells her that Cal would be proud of everything she did
and promises to find out who is responsible. As they talk, Carter clones his cell phone.
